Slope-Hettnger Soil Conservation District

Upper cannonball

Manure management project

The grant to fund the project has been awarded starting July 1, 2007.

The Slope-Hettinger SCD Board sought these funds to assist livestock producers with financial and technical assistance to install manure management systems.  This allows producers to voluntarily address their livestock manure issues in order to be in compliance with the ND Department of Health regulations. The costshare rate to producers within the Upper Cannonball Watershed is 60% to contain manure runoff and keep the clean water clean.

The Slope-Hettinger SCD will receive $990,000.00 of EPA-319 funds which is funneled through the ND Department of Health for a total project cost of over $1.6 million brought to this watershed.
